Maria Fernanda Fava, University of Coimbra, Portugal

Maria Fernanda Fava, Librarian, University of Coimbra, Portugal

Q: What led you into your chosen profession?

A: There were several reasons that led me to choose my profession: enjoying reading very much; the possibility of enlarging and deepening my knowledge; the possibility of having permanent contact with people.

Q: What book are you reading right now?

A: Conversations With God: An Uncommon Dialogue. Book 3.

Q: Who do you admire the most (past or present) and why?

A: The Portuguese prime minister, Maria de Lurdes Pintasilgo because she is a woman with exceptional human qualities.

Q: What was the first and last music record you bought?

A: The Beatles single Penny Lane. The last one was Dear Heather by Leonard Cohen.

Q: If you could have any career other than your chosen profession, what would you choose?

A: I would like to be a teacher.

Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, past or present, who would they be?

A: They would be Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill and Mário Soares, all of them represented a fundamental role in Sciences, in the World and in Portuguese democracy, respectively.

Q: If money was no option, where would you like to go on vacation?

A: My first university degree was History, especially XIV-XVIII centuries. The Renaissance period was the richest in art and its birth was in Italy, so I would like to visit 'in loco' all of the Renaissance sites and monuments.
